LOUISA COUNTY, Va. -- A Louisa man and woman were arrested and charged after they were overheard making threats against Louisa Middle School, according to investigators.

Marlana Milian, 33, and Adrian Reeves, 31, were charged with Conspiracy to burn/destroy at public building and Conspiracy to stab/wound with malicious intent.

The exact nature and wording of the threats were not released investigators.

The threats were made, according to investigators, last Thursday during a custody dispute off of school grounds.

"The incident stemmed from a domestic situation pertaining to child custody issues," Louisa Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Tabethia Cosner said. "Both individuals were heard making threatening statements in public, outside of the school building."

Louisa Middle School's principal addressed the situation in a letter sent home to parents:

I want to make you aware of an incident that occurred late yesterday afternoon. On Thursday, September 8, an adult was overheard making threats to do harm to LCMS. The individual was off of school property at the time, but another citizen reported it to the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, which in turn reported it to Louisa County Public Schools. Our school division is fully cooperating with the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office’s investigation. The sheriff’s office has notified Louisa County Public Schools that, as a result of the ongoing investigation, two individuals have been taken into custody and that it is unclear at this time whether the threat was credible.

Cosner later said the middle school was never in danger due to the threats.
