Inmate escapes under fence from Lynchburg jail

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Police in Lynchburg, Virginia are looking for an inmate who escaped Lynchburg Blue Ridge Regional Jail Monday.

James Richard Palvis, 22, escaped under a jail fence, according to Lynchburg Police.

"[Palvis] is a white male with brown hair and hazel eyes, approximately 5’10” and 178 pounds," police said. "He has a prominent tattoo on his neck that says LOYALTY. His direction of travel is unknown at this time but he is believed to be on foot in the downtown area and may have possibly changed out of his jail issued clothing."

The reason for Palvis' incarceration was not immediately available.
