HOPEWELL, Va. -- One person was airlifted to the hospital after a serious crash on Woodlawn Street in Hopewell. The two vehicle crash was reported near Ashland Street at about 1:30 p.m.
Initial reports from the crash scene indicated each driver blamed the other for running a red light.
A police investigation into who, or what, caused the crash is underway.
Emergency crews closed a section of Woodlawn Street near the crash scene to treat the injured patients and later clean up the mess.
The conditions of those hurt in the accident have not yet been released.
