RICHMOND, Va. – As kids enjoy their final week of summer, parents in Central Virginia are shopping for last minute back-to-school clothes and supplies.

So CBS 6 traffic reporter Kristen Luehrs, with the help of Union Bank and Trust, helped out a local family shopping for some new clothes in a back-to-school edition of CBS 6 Gives. Kristen went to the Forest Hill Target and surprised Kendra, James, and their two daughters.

“We would love to help you out with your items today, if you would allow us,” Kristen asked the family.

“Wow… That’d be great,” replied Kendra.

The family’s children are headed to the fourth and first grades.

“I brought a cart, we’d be more than happy to help you guys fill it up,” said Kristen.

Kristen and the family shopped all over Target for some new clothes that are sure to impress this upcoming school year.

“Good luck on your first day of school. We wish you all the best,” Kristen said to the family. “And just as a reminder, if you guys want to pay it forward with a random act of kindness, we’d appreciate that.”
