RICHMOND, Va. -- Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe paid a visit to Stone Brewing’s newly completed Richmond facility Tuesday to announce a collaboration on a new beer.

McAuliffe joined Stone, Ardent Craft Ales and Hardywood Park Craft Brewery to debut his new beer to celebrate the city’s emerging craft beer scene.

The three prominent Richmond-based breweries are going to make an imperial stout beer, the governor's favorite variety.

The beer will be packed with Virginia-grown raspberries and blackberries as a tribute to Richmond.

The tentative name of the creation is “Give Me Stout or Give Me Death,” and it is scheduled to be released through the Richmond area in September.
