CHESTERFIELD, Va. – Crews worked all night to repave ramps from the Powhite Parkway to Midlothian Turnpike. The ramps reopened at 6 a.m. Friday, but more work will continue this weekend.
As part of an ongoing resurfacing project, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews will close the ramps and collector-distributor lanes from Powhite Pkwy. (Rt. 60) west to Midlothian Tnpk. (Rt. 60) and Arboretum Pkwy.
The work is scheduled on Thursday, Aug. 25 and Sunday, Aug. 28 from 7 p.m.-6 a.m.
Crews are patching concrete ahead of an asphalt overlay application scheduled within the next few weeks. All work is weather dependent.
The Midlothian Tnpk. exit ramp toll plaza (located on the collector-distributor lanes) will also be closed for this work.
Drivers can use the following posted detour to avoid any additional tolls:
- From Powhite Pkwy. (Rt. 76) west, take Jahnke Rd. (Rt. 686) east to Boulders Pkwy. south back to Midlothian Tnpk. (Rt. 60).
Drivers can also use Chippenham Pkwy. to Midlothian Tnpk. as an alternate route.
