Virginia State Police investigate shooting on I-64, near Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. — Virginia State Police are investigating after a shooting was reported in the area of westbound I-64, east of Northampton Blvd.

When Troopers got to the scene they discovered a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, with 4 passengers, pulling a boat trailer, WTKR reports.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the Silverado was merging onto I-64 westbound from I-264 when the back seat passengers were struck by bullets.

It is unknown at this time where the gunfire came from and there is no suspect information available.

The backseat male and female passengers were taken to Norfolk Sentara General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation.
