STAFFORD, Va. -- A Virginia family celebrated a third generation wedding date this weekend that has been more than 60 years in the making.
Last month, CBS 6 told you about the Robinson/Cecchini women who were weeks away from having three generations celebrating their weddings in the same place at the same time.
That time came this past weekend on August 20.
Christina (Robinson) Puterbaugh and Michael Puterbaugh married in Stafford County Saturday as Christina’s mother and grandmother celebrated their wedding anniversaries.
Christina's parents Gail and Rob Robinson will celebrate their 33 wedding anniversary. The two got married on the same day, August 20, 1983.
Christina's grandparents Walter and Joan Cecchini will celebrate their 61 wedding anniversary. They were wed back on August 20, 1955.
The family said the wedding date started out as joke between Christina and her mother Gail, but August 20 happened to land on a Saturday.
