CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — Police are looking for two people who pickpocketed a woman at Stein Mart on Commonwealth Center Parkway in Chesterfield and then used her credit card to rack up thousands of dollars worth of charges. The victim said the pickpocket, a woman, first approached her in the store and asked her about clothing.

“During the conversation, the unknown woman leaned against the victim, but the victim did not realize she was being pickpocketed,” a Crime Solvers spokesman said. “The victim discovered her wallet was missing when her bank contacted her about unusual purchases being made with her credit card.”

When detectives investigated, they learned the female suspect along with a white male used to stolen card and spent thousands of dollars at Target on Commonwealth Center Parkway.

“The female appeared to be Native American or Alaskan. She had long, dark, braided hair underneath a dark-colored ball cap. She was wearing dark-colored pants and a long-sleeved white top,” police said. “The male suspect was Caucasian. He had a beard and wore a black baseball cap with blue print on the front. They were seen driving away in a dark-colored minivan.”

The crime happened Thursday, Aug. 11, at about 2:30 p.m., police said.
