RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond ended a nine-day streak of high temperatures between 90° and 99° on Friday when the high temperature reached 89° at Richmond International Airport.  Added to all of the heat has been high humidity, making it feel even more uncomfortable.  After highs around 90° this weekend, we will see a sharp change Sunday night into Monday.

A strong cold front will pass through the area Sunday evening with thunderstorms.  Behind this front, cooler and less humid air will filter into our region.  It will be very comfortable from Monday afternoon through Wednesday.

Highs for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the low to mid 80s, which is a few degrees below normal.  Overnight lows will be close to 60° in the metro with 50s in our outlying areas.  The overnight lows have not been that cool since June 19, when Richmond recorded a low of 55°.

Temperature and humidity levels will creep back up by the end of the week with highs around 90° by Friday.
