RICHMOND, Va. — Hopewell-filmed Imperium opens Friday, August 19, starring Daniel Radcliffe, for a one-week exclusive engagement. The Byrd is the only place to see it on the big screen in Richmond.

The plot revolves around Nate Foster (Daniel Radcliffe), a young, idealistic FBI agent who goes undercover to take down a radical right-wing terrorist group.

The bright up-and-coming analyst must confront the challenge of sticking to a new identity while maintaining his real principles as he navigates the dangerous underworld of white supremacy.

Daniel Ragussis directed and co-wrote with Michael German, the real-life agent on whom the lead character  is based.

The film stars a host of established actors, including Sam Trammell (True Blood, The Fault In Our Stars), Nestor Carbonell (Lost, The Dark Knight Rises), Toni Collette (Little Miss Sunshine, The Sixth Sense, United States of Tara), Tracy Letts (The Big Short, Homeland) and Burn Gorman (The Dark Knight Rises, Pacific Rim).

Virginia native Devin Druid (Louder Than Bombs) also starts in the 108-minute drama.

There was a special red carpet screening event on Wednesday, August 17, outside the Beacon Theatre.

More than 600 invited guests attended, including the director, writers, several actors, and city and regional officials, representatives from the Virginia Film Office and more.

So far critics love the movie, with the site Rotten Tomatoes keeping it fresh, with 93% favorable reviews.

The film will show at 9:30 p.m., starting on Friday.
