33rd Annual Carytown Watermelon Festival

RICHMOND: Yes Virginia it's time for the 33rd Annual Carytown Watermelon Festival, Sunday 10am – 4pm in Carytown. The streets from Thompson to the Boulevard will be closed to foot traffic and Restaurants and shops in Carytown will be open. Fifty bands, jugglers, and folk acts will entertain from 5 outdoor stages sponsored by Capital One.

The Shriners are back and will be slicing through more than three thousand watermelons feeding thousands. Every year the Shriners sell watermelon donated by Martin's, with proceeds benefiting the Shriners Hospital for children. Watermelons are sold for $1, just look for the men in red fez’.  Look for the men in red fez’ on the north side of Cary Street.
