89-year-old woman killed in fatal Amelia County crash

AMELIA COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State police have identified the woman killed in a fatal two-vehicle crash in Amelia County late-Friday afternoon.

Police said the crash happened around 3:49 p.m. on Route 360 eastbound at Maplewood Road.

“A 2001 Toyota Corolla was travelling north on Maplewood Road when it failed to stop at the stop sign and went into the path of a 2015 GMC Sierra that was traveling east on Route 360.  The 2015 GMC struck the 2001 Toyota on the driver’s side,” said Virginia State police Sgt. Steve Vick.

The driver of the 2001 Toyota has been identified as Patricia G. Inge, 89, of Blackstone. She died at the scene. Inge was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was wearing a seat-belt.

The driver of the 2015 GMC was uninjured in the crash.

No charges will be filed in the crash.

All lanes near Maplewood Rd. were shut down due to the crash. All lanes are now back open.
