HOUSTON — A Texas teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old student was back in court Wednesday morning.
Authorities said 24-year old Alexandria Vera violated a condition of her bond by returning home 46 minutes after her curfew, KTRK reports.
A GPS device monitoring showed she was at a shopping center.
The judge denied a motion to revoke Vera’s bond, so she will remain out of jail.
Vera is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old student at the middle school where she taught in the summer of 2015.
Court documents stated she became pregnant with the boy’s baby but had the pregnancy terminated once child protective services started questioning her about the relationship.
If convicted, Vera faces up to life in prison.
