HENRICO, Va. —  Henrico County Public Schools will host a job fair Thursday, August 4, to hire full-time and substitute bus drivers.

Members of the HCPS Human Resources and Pupil Transportation departments will be at the Varina library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to conduct preliminary interviews with interested bus driver candidates. Applicants are encouraged to apply online in advance at henricoschools.us/careers.

If you’re a good candidate but lack experience, don’t worry: HCPS said they will pay you while you learn.

“The new school year is just around the corner and we still need bus drivers,” said Mary Alderson, HCPS human resources specialist. “We’ll even pay you while you’re training – no experience necessary.”

Henrico Schools welcomes all candidates with good driving records and clean criminal background checks. All candidates will receive pay during a training program, which provides a Virginia commercial driver’s license and all credentials needed to transport Henrico County students on a school bus.
