MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. — Former television reporter Orlando Salinas is behind bars on rape charges in Montgomery County, Virginia.

Salinas was arrested Tuesday and charged with forcible sodomy and rape, according to WDBJ.

According to online court records, the offense happened on Jan. 11.

Salinas was hired by WDBJ as a reporter in 2012, but was released over insubordination in April of 2015, according to the station.

Before that he was a correspondent for Fox News for 12 years, according to a Roanoke Times article.

According to the newspaper, Salinas graduated from Blacksburg High School and Virginia Commonwealth University. He previously worked as a reporter in Richmond and Miami before moving to Fox News.

Since exiting WDBJ the Roanoke Times reported Salinas had been working as a real estate agent.

Salinas is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Jail.
