RICHMOND, Va. -- Finger-pointing and confusion erupted in the days following the first day of the Republican Convention Monday.

Melania Trump’s speech to the assembled delegates introducing her husband, presumptive nominee Donald trump, contained excerpts from Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech introducing her husband, now-President Barack Obama.

While questions swirl about how the plagiarized passages got in the speech, bigger questions involve what the Trump campaign needs to do now.

Taylor Thornley Keeney, a former aide to Gov. Bob McDonnell, offers some insight during an interview with CBS 6 anchor Bill Fitzgerald.

Wednesday, a Trump organization staffer identified herself as the person responsible for plagiarism in Melania’s Trump convention speech and offered her resignation Wednesday. Meredith McIver apologized in a statement sent out by the campaign and said the Trumps did not accept her resignation.
