38,000 Dominion customers still without power after severe storms

RICHMOND, Va. — Thousands of homes in Central Virginia are without power after severe thunderstorms hit the area Tuesday evening.

As of 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, Dominion Virginia Power reported more than 38,000 Richmond Metro/ Tri-Cities customers were without power. A majority of the outages are in Chesterfield County and Richmond.

Dominion was reporting the following outages:

  • Chesterfield 15,805
  • Henrico 5,235
  • Richmond City 14,686

Hopewell, Colonial Heights, and Goochland are also reporting a small amount of outages.

At one point, more than 66,000 Richmond Metro/ Tri-Cities customers were without power.
