Chesterfield family displaced after fire rips through home

CHESTERFIELD, Va. — Around 11 a.m. Tuesday morning Chesterfield Fire Crews arrived to heavy smoke and fire exiting the rear door of a home in the 13600 block of Prince James Drive.

Fortunately, no one was inside the home at the time and no one was injured.

However, four occupants were displaced; two  adults and two juveniles.

The Red Cross has been notified to help the family.

The exact cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshall.

Officials on scene said it appears the fire started in the family room.
