HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – Henrico and Chesterfield fire and rescue crews responded to Dutch Gap for a river rescue Monday afternoon.
Chesterfield Fire officials said they responded to Dutch Gap Boat Landing at 2:06 p.m. for a report of two adults and two juveniles stranded in a boat taking on water.
Officials said the group were on fishing when the boat started to fill up and sink.
Chesterfield and Henrico crews responded to the scene, which ended up being in Henrico.
Two of the people got to shore and the other two were rescued by crews. All four people were wearing life jackets and able to stay afloat.
The boat that stranded the group eventually sunk. The Coast Guard has been notified about the incident.
