RICHMOND, Va. — The official trailer has been released for “Loving,” the feature film shot in Richmond that tells the story of Caroline County couple Richard and Mildred Loving.

The Lovings, an interracial couple, was arrested in the 1950s for violating state law that prohibited interracial marriage.

Richard Loving and Mildred Jeter married in June 1958 in Washington, D.C., and returned to Caroline County where they were subsequently arrested and convicted of violating the anti-miscegenation law and forced to leave the state.

The couple then petitioned the court to overturn the ruling, bringing it all the way to the Supreme Court, where they won in 1967.

“This November, witness the love story that changed the world,” wrote Focus Features on their Facebook page.

The movie starring Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga is slated to be released in theaters November 4, 2016.
