RICHMOND, Va. -- We are waking up to a warm and humid day Wednesday with temperatures in the upper 70s.
The heat and humidity will continue to increase throughout the day. Hot and muggy weather will be us the rest of the week, with afternoon highs reaching the low and mid 90s.
The heat index will make it feel hotter, exceeding 100° at times.
This will be the first prolonged period of hot weather for the area this summer.
A few widely scattered storms will pop up each afternoon, again posing the threat for locally heavy rain. Our rain chances will stand at about 30 percent.
