GLEN ALLEN, Va. -- Fire crews are battling a house fire on New Trail Court, near Nuckols Road and Springfield Parkway, in Glen Allen.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find flames shooting through the roof of the two-story home.

Firefighters pulled the second-floor ceiling down in order to gain access to the fire. At the same time, personnel from the ladder truck completed a search. It was discovered that no one was home at the time of the incident. Early reports of a dog being inside turned out to be false as well.

The fire was brought under control within 10 minutes but required a great deal of overhaul to locate hidden fire and ensure that the fire was completely extinguished.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury to his hand while fighting the fire, Jon Burkett reported from the scene.

Video provided by neighbor Andrew Vreeland showed flames shooting from the roof of the West End home.

The occupants of the home will be displaced, but did not required Red Cross services.

Fire marshals are on the scene now to determine the cause of the fire.

Thanks to several neighbors calling the fire in as soon as it was seen, and the quick arrival of firefighters, it appears that the damage is limited the roof, attic, and portions of the second floor.

This is a developing story. Anyone with additional information can submit a news tip here.
