RICHMOND, Va.— Three weeks ago CBS ran a report about the proper channels to follow to get help with pothole-related incidents.

A pothole we spoke with city officials about is still there, with a second one down the road.

Resident Lamont Whitehead demonstrated what a pothole did to the car he cherishes the most.

Nothing can come between Whitehead and his baby; a blue beauty restored to pristine condition.

It’s a prized possession left to him by his grandma Dolly. Whenever he rides his thoughts are never far from her.

But Whitehead said that months after he overhauled his antique, this pesky pothole problem brought a huge headache.

“I mean that hole was massive, I hit it and was like ‘whew,’ it shook the whole car.”

That bumpy ride blew his tire and Whitehead immediately filed a claim with the city complete with pictures and receipts. He hopes to be reimbursed for the $100 in damages.

He said that was in April and he is still waiting to be reimbursed.

CBS 6 Problem Solvers contacted the city's Department of Public Works.

Officials said Whitehead's claim is in the city attorney's office and it's being investigated -- and that they'll work to resolve it as soon as possible.

Others drivers who find themselves pestered by city potholes are encouraged to report them online. That’s something which happens at least 25 times per day, according to the city. Once the request is noted, it could it could take days, sometimes weeks to fill.

Potholes can be reported here.
