Police identify man killed after being shot multiple times in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. — Police have identified the 37-year-old man  who died after he was shot multiple times Friday evening in Richmond.

Officers were called to the 2200 block of Ford Avenue at approximately 6:54 p.m. for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, they found James M. Williams on a sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Williams was transported to a local hospital where he died. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of his death.

Detectives interviewed witnesses at the scene of the shooting and believe several individuals in the area may have witnessed the incident and can provide valuable information.
