Chesterfield, Va. -- A traffic alert in Chesterfield over the weekend, so you may want to re-route your weekend plans
Starting Friday night, a busy section of Genito Road will be closed throughout the entire weekend.
The section that will be closed goes over the Swift Creek Reservior and connects Brandermill and Woodlake.
Virginia Department of Transportation crews will shut down the road until Monday morning so they can get ready for a bridge reconstruction project there.
That work is expected to start next month.
VDOT says this entire process will cost just under $4 million.
The project is scheduled to be completed by November 2016.
