Police: Man grabs beer then robs Richmond market

RICHMOND, Va. — Police are looking for a man who robbed a Richmond market after grabbing a beer from the cooler. Police released video of the man from Tuesday night’s robbery at the Sam Market on N. 30th Street near Nine Mile Road.

“The store employee stated the suspect entered the store, selected a can of beer from the refrigerated case, walked to the counter, displayed a silver handgun and demanded money from the cash register,” a Richmond Police spokesperson said. “The suspect then left the store and was last seen running towards Nine Mile Road.”

Police described the suspect as a black male who is approximately 5’8” tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds. He wore a white t-shirt, khaki trousers and sneakers at the time of the incident. He has a goatee and braided hair.
