CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — A severe thunderstorm rolled through Central Virginia Thursday morning knocking out power and leaving high water on some area roads.

More than 6,000 Dominion Virginia Power customers were without electricity at 8:15 a.m., according to the utility’s website.

The majority of the outages were in Henrico County and Chesterfield County.

In addition to the power outages, rain from the storm left high water on roads, some drivers reported, and knocked down trees into the roadway.
