HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC) — Virginia Tech. Sandy Hook. Orlando.

The locations are forever tied in U.S. history as the three most deadly shootings in the nation.

Now, the parents of Ana Marquez-Greene are speaking out on the latest tragedy. Ana was killed in the tragedy at Sandy Hook.

“I have one message for those families in Florida,” the statement on the Remembering Ana Facebook page said. “I am sorry. I am so, so sorry. I am sorry that our tragedy here in Sandy hook wasn’t enough to save your loved ones. I tried and I won’t stop trying.”

The note talks about ignoring the people who continue to hate, and embracing those who reach out with love.

The Marquez-Greene family continues to discuss how hard times like these are for children.

“My son will learn about your loved ones. And we will not forget. We will say their names out loud. We will remember your children. As you remembered and learned about ours.”

Then, they turn to action and list links and websites that talk about gun control and the LGBT community.

“Friends- you are either a part of the problem or a part of the solution. Victims cannot bear the burden of this alone. Please help.”
