Mattress fire forces Riverside apartment evacuation

RICHMOND, Va. --- A mattress fire forced the evacuation of an apartment complex in the city's Southside.

Smoke was seen pouring from the second floor at the Riverside Apartments, on Riverside Drive, just before 2:30 am Sunday, according to Richmond firefighters.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

The investigate into what started the fire remains on-going.

No one was hurt in the fire.
