Police looking for man accused of stealing purse in Church Hill

RICHMOND, Va. – Police are looking for a suspect they say stole a purse from a vehicle in Church Hill on April 24, 2016.

William T. Bell, 32, is wanted on charges of grand larceny and credit card theft.

Police said the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. When officers were called to the 100 block of N. 29th Street for a report of a theft from a vehicle.

A short time later and about a block away near East Grace Street, witnesses alerted police to a man walking a dog and carrying a purse. That man was later identified as Bell.

They reported seeing the man drop the purse and run toward East Broad Street. The purse was recovered by officers, but the wallet and credit cards were missing.
