RICHMOND, Va. – A Henrico man has been charged in the murder of his father inside a North 29th Street home on March 2.
Police have charged Thomas Jones Jr., 25 with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The charges are in connection with the murder of his father, Thomas Jones Sr., 54, of Henrico County.
Jones Jr. was initially arrested on May 11.
Richmond Police launched a death investigation after a man was found dead inside a Church Hill home with what Richmond Police Chief Alfred Durham described as, “obvious signs of trauma to the body.”
Thomas Jones Sr. was found inside the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the time, police said the doors of the home where locked and seemed secure.
