DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. -- A 29-year-old woman walking on Route 1 in Dinwiddie County was struck and killed early Sunday morning.
The crash occurred a at 12:50 a.m. at the intersection of Boydton Plank Road and Duncan Road.
Sgt. Steve Vick with Virginia State Police said a GMC Safari was travelling north on Route 1 when a female pedestrian "stepped into its lane of travel."
Officials said Jennifer K. Dlugosz of Dinwiddie County died at the scene.
"The driver of the 2001 GMC Safari was not injured," Vick said.
Authorities said there are no charges in the crash.
