GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. -- A 19-year-old Hanover High School graduate was killed in a crash Saturday morning at the intersection of Broad Street Road and Fairground Road in Goochland.

Jackie Elaine Lipford, who was sitting in the front passenger seat of a Chevrolet pickup truck, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

"She had a sunny disposition and was 'mom' to two cats," her father said. "Many cats have her to thank for their rescue and placement in foster homes. She will be forever missed."

The truck Lipford was riding in turned in front of a Ford F-350 headed east on Broad Street Road, according to investigators.

"The driver of the Ford truck was transported to an area hospital by Goochland Fire & Rescue where he was treated and released," Goochland investigators said. "The driver of the Chevrolet truck was not injured, but was charged by Goochland deputies with reckless driving."

That driver, 21-year-old Andrew Loflin, of Mechanicsville, is due in court June 20.

Her father said Lipford and Loflin had been dating for about two years.

He said the couple was headed to a relative's birthday party when they crashed.

Alcohol was not considered a factor in the crash.
