HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — In order to fix a broken water main, Henrico work crews have closed lanes along the 4400 block of Pouncey Tract Road, near West Broad Street, in Short Pump. The intersection of Pouncey Tract and West Broad Street is one of the busiest intersections — in terms of traffic — in Central Virginia.

“The right turn lane into a business on Pouncey Tract has been closed, as well as the right, northbound lanes of the road for approximately 400 feet,” Henrico Public Utilities spokesman Melvin Slough said. “The left, northbound lane remains open to traffic. Drivers can continue to make a right turn to enter the business from Pouncey Tract.”

The county hopes to have repairs done and all lanes open by 6 p.m. on Friday.

“Motorists are urged to drive with caution while traveling in the area,” Slough said. “DPU does not anticipate a disruption to water service.”
