NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, VA. -- A Northumberland County man has been arrested and charged with 10 counts of child pornography with intent to distribute.
Investigators said Charles Baker Ward Jr. came to the attention of the Internet Crimes Against Children unit in late April when he was found on a peer to peer site.
After a month of investigation, investigators obtained a search warrant for Ward’s home.
The ICAC unit found thousands of images of child porn on an electronic device, according to the Northumberland County Sheriff's Office.
Ward was then taken into custody and charged.
Investigators said there was no indication that Ward was producing child pornography.
The Northumberland County Sheriff's Office said the case is with the assistance and cooperation of the Gloucester County Sheriff's Office and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office
Ward was arraigned Friday, May 27 and is currently in jail without bond. He will be back in court Monday, June 6.
