CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – A street renaming ceremony to honor Clover Hill High graduate and U.S. Marine, Sgt. Sean Miles, has been scheduled for next week.

Miles lost his life during Operation Iraqi Freedom on January 24, 2006. Miles was killed while trying to pull one of his men to safety during an attack.

He was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service during a 2006 ceremony.

In April, the Chesterfield Board of Supervisors voted to rename Kelly Green Trail to Sean Miles Run. Kelly Green Trail is the road that leads to Clover Hill High School’s sports stadium.

The renaming ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 1, at 3 p.m. at 13301 Kelly Green Lane.
