GLEN BURNIE, Md. -- The power of social media helped a Maryland teenager land a prom date he will never forget, a Washington Redskins cheerleader.

Stephen Bieber, a student at Old Mill High School in Anne Arundel County, was looking for a prom date and thought of the perfect person.

The chances were probably slim, but that didn’t stop the senior from reaching out to Redskins Cheerleader, Christa Aiken, on her Instagram page back in March.

“100% serious, how many retweets I gotta get on Twitter for you to go to prom with me? 10,000 enough? Please,” Bieber wrote.

Aiken responded to his request.

“At least 10K!!”

The challenge was accepted by Aiken, reaching the total in just five days.

Bieber scored the date thanks to some help from friends and professional athletes on Twitter. NFL players Terrance Knighton and Antonio Cromartie assisted him in his quest for 10,000.

Aiken held up her end of the deal and the date was set.

This past weekend, Bieber and Aiken arrived to the prom in style in a Rolls-Royce. By the looks of the pictures, Bieber, Aiken, and all of Biebers friends had a great time.
