HANOVER, Va. – Three juveniles were arrested in connection to three stolen vehicles and multiple reports of broken into vehicles along the Mechanicsville Turnpike corridor.
Two 16-year-old boys from Richmond and one from Chesterfield, age 15, were arrested from the crimes that occurred between 9 p.m. on May 23 and 4 a.m. May 24.
The teens were connected to three stolen vehicles and 11 thefts from vehicles. Additionally, multiple vehicles were entered and rummaged through, but no items were taken.
All vehicles that were entered were unlocked and the keys were left inside the three vehicles which were stolen, police said.
All three vehicles have been recovered; one vehicle was found in Henrico County and two vehicles were found in Richmond.
Each juvenile has been charged with Grand Larceny and Conspiracy to commit larceny. Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.

I would also like to thank our partners with the Henrico County Division of Police and the City of Richmond Police Department for their assistance during the course of this investigation,” said
Sheriff Colonel David R. Hines applauded the patrol deputies and investigators for their teamwork and quick turnaround to arrest the suspects.
The Sheriff’s Office also reminded citizens to help make this type of crime more difficult for the offender and less attractive to commit.
Please take the following steps, they asked:
- remove valuables from your vehicle and lock your car doors
- never leave your keys in your vehicle while unattended
- leave a porch light on during the hours of darkness, and
- immediately call the Sheriff’s Office if you notice any suspicious behavior or noises.
