Driver follows GPS onto Henrico train tracks

HENRICO COUNTY, Va -- Crews reopened Hungary Road after a crash involving a CSX train and a car.

Henrico Police said the driver turned onto the railroad track,  near Hungary and Purcell roads, at about  2 a.m. Wednesday.

Officers said the driver may have been following GPS directions and turned onto the tracks by mistake, since Oakview Avenue is next to the railroad crossing.

Train slams into car

The driver escaped the car before the train hit the vehicle.

The train was moving slowly at the time and was not damaged in the crash.

No one was hurt in the crash.

Police said alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

Crews reopened Hungary Road at around 5 a.m. Wednesday.
