Protect your identity and finances

RICHMOND, Va - J.T. Blau, Vice President of Risk Management for Call Federal shared some helpful tips to protect against identity theft. Call Federal is holding a free Identity Theft Protection workshop on Tuesday, May 24th at 6 p.m. at LaPrade Library in Chesterfield. The Workshop is free and open to the public. Register in advance at www.callfederal.org.

Password Security Tips

Length – the longer your password is, the tougher it is to hack it

Use a combination of capital letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols

Avoid common words or names

Don’t use children’s names or other personal information that can be found online

Remove or replace letters to make common words less common

  • Take out vowels
  • Replace “S” with $

Instead of a password, try using a passphrase  - ex: RVAis110%amazing
