Charges pending after barricade situation ends in Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – A man is receiving mental health treatment after barricading himself inside his home near Matoaca Park in Chesterfield County Sunday evening.

Chesterfield police said they received a call for a disturbance at a home in the 6100 block of Perthshire Street just before 5:50 p.m.

Officials said a man threatening to harm himself refused to come out of the home for about an hour.

The situation ended peacefully when the man turned himself over to officers.

Officials said charges are pending and that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
