Head-on collision kills Chesterfield driver

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- One driver was killed and a second driver was hurt in a head-on collision Saturday night in Chesterfield County.

The two-vehicle crash happened along the 16300 block of Branders Bridge Road at about 8:11 p.m.

The names of the drivers have not yet been released by Chesterfield Police.

"A Dodge truck was traveling southbound on Branders Bridge Rd when it crossed over the double yellow line into the northbound lanes and collided head on with a Chevrolet sedan," a Chesterfield Police spokesman said. "The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries."

The cause of the crash remained under investigation on Sunday.
