RICHMOND, Va. — The family of a two-year-old girl killed in a car crash has asked for help paying for the child’s funeral.

Queen Maultsby was killed Tuesday when the car her mother was driving entered the intersection of 18th and Coalter Streets in Richmond and collided with another vehicle, a Richmond Police spokesman said. The investigation into the crash is on-going and charges could still be filed.

The GoFundMe account established by the Maultsby family indicated they hoped to raise $2,000.

“This money is for the funeral services,” a message on the GoFundMe page read. “The burial site is another $3,000. Please, find it in your heart SOMEWHERE to donate. Every penny counts.”

Queen Maultsby’s aunt called the family tragedy unbearable.

“I can’t imagine what it would feel like to have a baby taken away from you,” Anissa Lee said. “We are there for her [Queen Maultsby’s mother] every step of the way.”

The driver of the other car involved in the crash remained hospitalized Wednesday night.
