LONG BEACH, Calif. — A teenage boy convinced two older females to repeatedly assault his pregnant girlfriend in hope of forcing her to miscarry, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Angel Contreras, 17, was charged as an adult — he now faces two counts of attempted murder, two counts of conspiracy to commit murder and one count each of kidnapping and assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury, the D.A.’s Office announced Tuesday.

Contreras plotted to kill his girlfriend’s unborn child with the help of Claudia Rodriguez, 18, and Candy Patricio, 19, according to officials. Both women face the same six felony counts as Contreras, KTLA reports.

Rodriguez and Patricio are accused of jumping Contreras’ girlfriend as she walked home on March 4, punching her repeatedly in the stomach.

Then, less than three weeks later, they again attacked the unidentified girlfriend as she exited a bus, according to court documents. Rodriguez and Patricio tried to drag the victim into a car, but a witness thwarted the kidnapping attempt, according to the prosecutor.

Contreras, who was on the bus with his girlfriend, had allegedly alerted the other two suspects to their location so that the women could attack the victim.

Long Beach police investigated the case, the DA’s office said in a news release.

Contreras, Rodriguez and Patricio were scheduled to be arraigned Monday but the hearing was postponed till May 31.

The DA’s office did not provide any information on the health of the victim or her fetus.
