The double shooting was at the Midlothian Village apartments in South Richmond, across the street from the high school.

The victims, one of whom had life-threatening injuries, were transported to a local hospital.

Rashawn A. Brathwaite, 23, of the 2300 block of Whitcomb Street, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital Monday afternoon. The other victim suffered a non-life threatening injury, police said.
