CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – Police are investigating three cases of counterfeit bills used at three different Chesterfield County Target locations over the last month.

Police believe the same man has passed out the counterfeit $100 bills, but surveillance images have not been released at this time. All three crimes took place exactly 13 days apart.

Now the Chesterfield Police and the Secret Service are working together on this case.

Target stores hit

The first store to get hit was the Target store, located at 2530 Weir Rd. in Chester on April 6th. The second store hit was the Commonwealth Centre location in Midlothian on April 19. Again, exactly 13 days later the Target store in Westchester Commons received counterfeit cash Monday, May 2.

A crime scene investigator tells CBS 6 the pattern could indicate the suspect might be from out town or the bills were made every 13 days.

In each incident, the suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 11 inches tall and 25-30 years old.

If you have any information regarding this case you are asked to call Chesterfield Police or call Crime Solvers at 804-784-0660.
