RICHMOND, Va. -- One of the largest charity facial hair competitions in the country took place Saturday night in Richmond.

The fifth annual Mid-Atlantic Beard and 'Stache Championships took place at the Canal Club.

Photojournalist Chris Munnings filed a report from the competition, which raises money for the Fisher House in Richmond.

“I am currently wearing spandex morph suit,” one participant dressed as the Riddler said. “It took me about three hours or so to put together the circles and question marks that you see right now.”

Munnings also met up with one couple from Ohio who has been attending the event for years.

“We’re married. We have three kids," the man said. "We’ve been married almost 10 years and this is out getaway is coming to these things.”

And fellow CBS 6 photojournalist Chris Jenkins got to take part in the event.
