WOODBRIDGE, Va. — The nearly two week search for a missing Virginia woman ended with the discovery of her body.

Lizeth Yadira Lopez, 36, was reported missing 10 days ago.

“After her vehicle was located near her place of employment in Woodbridge on April 20, the case was turned over to Prince William County Police. During the investigation, detectives learned that Ms. Lopez exited the CVS store located on Touchtone Circle around 9 p.m. on April 17,” a Prince William Police spokesperson said.

On Friday morning, April 29, police were called to Cotton Mill Drive and Griffith Avenue in Woodbridge to investigate a body found there.

“Officers arrived in the area and located the body of an adult woman presumed to be Lizeth Yadira Lopez, 36, who was reported as missing and endangered on April 19,” a police spokesman said. “The body was located near a drainage ditch in the above area and will be transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. At this time, the death is being investigated as a homicide.”
