HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- A 27-year-old Richmond man was arrested and charged with robbery and gun crimes after a violent incident inside a Henrico Burger King.

Police were called to the fast food restaurant on Brook Road, near Parham Road, at about 11:30 Wednesday night for a robbery in progress.

"Officers arrived on scene within approximately one minute of being dispatched and confronted a suspect who was exiting the business and who matched the description that was provided by the 911 call," a Henrico Police spokesman said. "The suspect was placed into custody and a firearm and U.S. currency were located on his person."

Naim Kashif Watson, of Wainwright Drive in Richmond, fired at least one shot in the fast food restaurant and assaulted one Burger King worker while he robbed the business, police said.

CBS 6's Brendan King spoke to the victim, an assistant manager at Burger King, who was recovering at home after being treated at the hospital. The father of several children says he was hit in the face with the gun which knocked him to the ground.

The victim's wife said she was glad the suspect was arrested and in jail.

Police said they were not looking for any additional suspects in connection with the robbery.

Watson appeared in a Henrico courtroom Thursday morning where a judge denied him bond. He was given a court appointed attorney and will have a preliminary hearing June 2nd.
